Downtown On the Go welcomes Laura Wisdom as the new Transportation Options Fall Intern.
Wisdom will support DOTG’s fall commuter events and communications including Walk to Work & Win, Fall Bike to Work Week and Transit Month as well as ongoing outreach and transportation fairs throughout downtown Tacoma.
A transplant from Spokane and a University of Puget Sound alumna, Wisdom is looking forward to putting down more Tacoma roots. She is excited to help make Tacoma more livable and lovable through her work with Downtown On the Go!
Wisdom studied biology and an assortment of humanities, and she is interested in everything that promotes a healthful and sustainable lifestyle, including gardening/small scale agriculture, DIY, crafts, cooking, and of course, alternative transit options. A year of AmeriCorps service galvanized her exploration of community service and non-profit work. When not waxing philosophical, she can be found harvesting produce for the Pierce County Gleaning Project.
Wisdom lives in the 6th Avenue District with her partner Bobby, and they both enjoy biking to work downtown, on errands, and just for fun.
