Festive cheer and fun activities warmed downtown despite the winter chill on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 4th, during the Downtown Resident Meet-Up. Hosted by Local Life and Downtown On the Go, the quarterly meet-ups are aimed to connect downtown residents to their neighbors and local fun, as well as providing a place for those interested in living downtown to meet others who already do.
Convening in Tollefson Plaza at the Two Five Trees tree lot and the Franciscan Polar Plaza ice skating rink, downtown residents and friends gathered to enjoy neighborly conversation amid hot drinks, holiday ornament crafting, bagel sandwiches from the Budha Bear Bagel food truck, ice skating, and Christmas tree purchases. Attendees who came by foot, bike or transit were rewarded with a free DOTG travel coffee mug to tote their hot drinks. And thanks to sponsorship from Zipcar, car share vehicles were ready to chauffeur the trees and customers home at no cost.
To get your own tree, Two Five Trees is open: Monday – Friday 12pm – 10pm, Saturday 8am-10pm, and Sunday 10am – 10pm.
Thanks to all who attended, and if you couldn’t make it, come join us next time!
