Why do you bike to work?

“To prove I can bike all the way to work! Health, fitness, meeting other cyclists, and supporting active transportation in general.” – Tacoma bike commuter

Vanpool & Carpool

Can’t ride the bus, but ready to ditch your lonely ride to work? Ridesharing in a carpool or vanpool may be for you. Meet fellow downtown workers at nearby businesses or arrange a rideshare within your business or building – regardless of how you share the ride, it’s great way to save money, make friends, and cruise in the HOV lane.

Currently Pierce Transit, King County Metro, Intercity, and Kitsap all serve downtown Tacoma employees with vanpools commuting from the near and far ends of Puget Sound. Carpools are even more numerous.

How do you find out more? Create a ridematch profile on RideshareOnline.com, and you’ll be amazed at how many ride matches exist near your home and work. Can’t find any matches? – simply start your own carpool or vanpool. Check out RideshareOnline.com to find out how, or give us a call and we’ll walk you through it.

Or consider joining a vanpool already on the road.  There are seats available on many routes – just waiting for you! Check out Pierce Transit’s Vanpool page for a list of Pierce Transit vanpools.  Call 253-581-8000 to talk to a Pierce Transit Vanpool Coordinator who can answer questions, help you find or join an existing vanpool, or help you start a new vanpool.
