Downtown On the Go and the American Heart Association will be kicking off the Walk Tacoma Series sponsored by Franciscan Health System on National Walking Day, Wednesday, April 3 from Noon – 1 p.m. The free walking event in Wright Park will be a Garden Walk led by Kathy Sutalo and Mary Anderson from Metro Parks. Participants will be guided through a walking tour of Wright Park and the Conservatory. The walk, sponsored by Doyle’s Public House, will begin at the south side of Wright Park by the lion sculptures. Booths featuring information on healthy lifestyles, healthy commutes, and upcoming walking events will be available at 11:30am. There is no pre-registration necessary, just simply join us at the meeting spot.
The Garden Walk will kick-off an eight walk series held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from April through August. The fun walks encourage downtown employees and residents to exercise and enjoy the outdoors by discovering the different walking routes and parks in downtown Tacoma.
