The City of Tacoma has declared June to be Walk Tacoma Month! To celebrate, Downtown On The Go has added a free walk every Wednesday at noon this month featuring a wide variety of themes! All of our walks are free and open to anyone in the Tacoma community. Pre-register on the DOTG website or in person prior to the event!
Wednesday, June 13th from noon to 12:30 p.m. will be our second walk of the month Walk with a Doc! We will be guided by Dr. Veronica Hooper through Wright Park. The walk will feature some of the health benefits of walking as described by Dr. Hooper. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about health and fitness, as well as break your daily work routine by walking! Come meet us at the Lion sculptures at Wright Park (S. 6th)!
For our third Walk event, we have a Stair Climb Challenge at the Murray Morgan Bridge Stairs! Wednesday, June 20th from noon to 12:30 p.m., come ready to do climb 253 stairs! The first 20 people to complete the challenge will win a free drink certificate from Lift Bridge Coffee!
The final walk in Walk Tacoma Month 2018 will be happening in Hilltop and will be led by the Tacoma Urban League Director & CEO T’wina Franklin! Join us for our last walk at noon to 12:30 p.m starting at the Tacoma Urban League (2550 S. Yakima)!
