On Thursday, April 21st from 5:00-7:00pm at the Municipal Building Council Chambers, Pierce Transit will hold a public hearing addressing the System Reductions as a result of the recession and the failure of Proposition 1. This is an opportunity for the public to weigh in on how Pierce Transit implements the 35% reductions before they are adopted at the May 9th Board of Commissioners meeting.
To view the proposed reductions as well as information on three other public hearings available – Gig Harbor (April 18th), Puyallup/South Hill (April 25th), and East Pierce County (April 28th) – click here.
More than one hundred and fifty people showed up to the Lakewood meeting held on the 11th. Hopefully Tacoma’s citizens will double that in number, both showing their support for transit and also advocating for the maintenance of as much service as possible to the most populous city in the County (and especially downtown)!
