Tacoma will be celebrating the rededication and centennial of the Murray Morgan Bridge on Friday, February 15 at 10 a.m. The celebration, off of 11th and A Street, will include a christening of the bridge, remarks from Mayor Strickland, and a multi-modal processional.
Help celebrate the event with Downtown On the Go by walking or biking in the processional which will include bicycles, pedestrians, LeMay Museum cars, and historical Pierce Transit buses. Contact email@example.com if you have interest in participating.
The newly opened bridge is pedestrian and bicycle friendly with bicycle lanes and sidewalks. It makes traveling to and from the Port of Tacoma and the many businesses on the East Foss much easier and makes bus and bicycle travel a reality for many commuters.
